Structure

Project is directed by the director of Institue of Physics (IoP). Three separate high-level functions exist in the project – Science and Technology, Project Management, and External Affairs. Key stakeholders - key entities outside the ELI Beamlines project are the IoP Council, IoP Supervisory board, Academic Council of the Academy of Sciences, ELI Coordination Council, and Ministry of Education Youth and Sports – Managing Authority of Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovation (OP RDI). Key advisory boards are Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC) and Coordination Board.

Research Programs

The ultrashort and ultra-intense pulses of light and the particles generated from interaction with solid state and gas target materials will allow a broad spectrum of projects in fundamental and applied research in chemistry, biology, medical technologies, development of new materials, and other areas.

The development, research and engineering activities within the ELI-Beamlines project are structured into six Research Programs.

Financing

Preparation and construction of the world’s most intense laser and all other related costs will require a total of 7 447 381 042 Czech crowns. 85% of these so-called eligible expenses are co-financed by the EU and 15% of the Czech Republic state budget.
